IVE 4 is the version that is updated regularly. Binaries are available for x86 Linux, Mac OS X, and IRIX 6.5. The most recently released distribution (executables, libraries, include files, etc.) for x86 Linux, Mac OS X, and IRIX is in /home2/lehua/IVE4. The source code corresponding to the most recent release is in /home2/lehua/IVE4-src. /home2/lehua/IVE4LAST holds the release prior to the latest. The CVS repository for IVE 4 is in /home2/lehua/repository. The up-to-date development version is in /home2/lehua/ive/curr/dist; it includes binaries for x86 Linux and IRIX. Copies of that development version (with only the x86 Linux binaries) are propagated to /home/eric/ivex on ec3, ec4, ec6, ec20, ec30, and the machines that mount /home from baboon. The development version for Mac OS X is available from /Volumes/public/public.Darwin/apps/powerpc/PriismX or /Volumes/public/public.Darwin/apps/i386/PriismX. The source code for the development version is in /home2/lehua/ive/curr/src.
This is the predecessor to IVE 4 that runs on IRIX 6.5 (some processing applications are also available for x86 Linux, Alpha Linux, and OSF1). The only reason you would likely want to look at this version is as a point of comparison for the behavior of IVE 4. The files for IVE 3.3 are located in /home2/lehua/IVE3.3. Compressed tar archive without source code of the last release (from March 2004) is in /home2/lehua/IVE3.3_irix.tgz.
IVE 6.3 is the name that was given to the version of IVE 3.3 that was under active development. The files for this version are located in /home2/lehua/IVE6.3.
This version is the predecessor to IVE 3.3. It will run on IRIX 5.3 through IRIX 6.5 systems. A locally installed version of this software (/usr/local/ucsf_msg/IVE3) is still used by Resolve3D on om1. Besides a large number of incremental changes, IVE 3 differs from IVE 3.3 in the layout of the Priism user interface and the format of the binaries (o32 versus n32 as used by IVE 3.3). Two full variants of this version exist, /home2/lehua/IVE3 and /home2/lehua/IVE3_pop; when in doubt, prefer the one in /home2/lehua/IVE3.
This version is the oldest version still available on disk. It will run on IRIX 5.3 through IRIX 6.5 systems. It has a different image window interface and memory management strategy than later versions. It also uses IRIS GL rather than Open GL. Two full (source and executables) variants of this version are available: one in /home2/pop/IVE2 and /home2/lehua/IVE2. Those directories do not have the equivalent of a Priism_setup script used to set the environment as in later versions. However, an example of such a script (for the files in /home2/lehua/IVE2) is at /home2/corelab/eric/irix/bin/eric/ive2.
