Research
I am interested in studying the crystal structures and structure function relationship of g-tubulin complex proteins. g-tubulin complex proteins in the centrosome play a key role in microtubule nucleation and most of them belong to a unique protein family. A full understanding of the function and mechanism would require the atomic resolution structures. The crystal structure of human g-tubulin has been solved in the lab, which provides critical information on the g-tubulin contact interface. Structures of the g-tubulin complex proteins and in complex with g-tubulin may offer more insight in regulation of the microtubule nucleation.
